Let me start by saying that I freakin love to crochet! It is my past time, it is my therapy, it is my business. However, sometimes when business get really busy passion is benched while stats, insights, deadlines, goals, etc. take the shine.

To keep the passion alive, to keep what I love something that continues to make me smile, I created the crochet passion projects for the new year.

First up is the donut!

I am really really excited to share this with you. I don’t usually share our patterns, but I wanted the love of crochet to extend beyond just me and reach out to everyone who wants to partake.

Now friends, let be clear: some of these projects will be absolutely adorable while others will likely miss the cute bus. Thats okay though because the purpose is just to express the love for the art. If you decide to try any of our passion project patterns, please loop us in; send us DMs on IG (@zumamiko), tag us in post, and comment on our blog!

(There were a few iterations of the pattern, so ignore the pattern in the photo)

If you are anything like me, you skipped all the above text and went straight to the pattern 😂😂. That’s okay, thanks for stopping by anyway!

Passion Project #1: THE DONUT

Materials:

- Worsted yarn color for the donut (I used a light brown)

- Worsted yarn color for the frosting (I used a dark brown for “chocolate”)

- 3.5 crochet hook

- Yarn needle

- Polyfill stuffing

- Stitch marker

Abbreviations:

- St = stitch

- Ch = chain

- Sc = single crochet

- Sl st = slip stitch

- Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together

- ** = repeat the pattern between the asterisk

Pattern:

With the donut color yarn

R1: ch 26 then join to 1st st to form a circle

R2: sc in each st

R3: *1sc then 2sc in the next st*

R4: *2sc then 2sc in the next st*

R5: *3sc then 2sc in the next st*

R6-R9: 1sc in each st

Switch to the frosting colored yarn

R10-R13: 1sc in each st

R14: *3sc then sc2tog*

R15: *2sc then sc2tog*

R16: *1sc then sc2tog*

R17: 1sc in each st

sl st R1 to R17 and fill (I recommend filling with the polyfill every couple of sl sts, this will help keep the donut evenly stuffed)

All done, now let me see!!! Send us a DM on IG @zumamiko, tag us in post, and comment on the blog post!

Don't forget to get creative! Change the frosting color, scale it up or down, add drizzles. Most important, have fun! Stayed tuned for our next project. We announce first on our IG page, and we share the pattern making process on our stories.

You are welcome to sell whatever you make from this pattern; however, please please credit "zumamiko" as the original creator. Thank you!
